SNOMADS
SKI AND SNOWBOARD CLUB
The Snomads Ski club is celebrating its forty eighth anniversary this year. On March 1, 1971 the ski club known as Wis-Ski-A-Go-Go changed its name to the Snomads Ski Club. We had
fun then and are still having a great time.
We are about 40 members
strong from a one time high of about 300. We continue to support ski related
causes such as the National Sports Center for the Disabled in Winter Park, Colorado. You may remember the Novemberfest Dances we held at Dania Hall. We also have people participating in ski lesson
programs at Wilmot Ski Hill and destination trips during the winter, as well as cross country, and snow shoe outings. During
last summer, activities had included weekly bike rides, golf outings and a Brewer game trip.
We also have a ski race team which competes
against 5 other clubs in the Metropolitan Milwaukee Ski Council Senior Alpine
Race League. The twelve race season runs from December to March.
So, if youre a ski or snowboard enthusiast who is over 21 and would
like to find out more about our club contact Betty Robinson at 262-554-6233
or any other board member.
